Jude Treder-Wolff has been writing and performing original cabaret shows since 1998, and has appeared at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Danny's Skylight Room, Rose's Turn, The Duplex, and Judy's Chelsea, Stand-Up New York, and the New York Comedy Club in Manhattan. In 2006 she did 4 benefit performances for Habitat for Humanity's Operation Home Delivery Program to assist Hurricane Katrina victims at the Ward Melville Education and Culture Center in Stony Brook NY. In 2004-2005 she hosted an innovative weekly cabaret/comedy variety show, The Jude Treder-Wolff Thursday Nite Psychotherapy Group, and traveled with her last full-length solo show 'Enchantments'The Planet in the Window' to Texas, Wisconsin, Long Island and Florida. Her sold-out performance of 'Enchantments' at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead New York raised $5000 for Habitat for Humanity. With grant assistance from the New York Foundation for the Arts, in 1992 she wrote the book and lyrics for 'Tapestry of Hope' a musical based on the AIDS Memorial Quilt which toured the New York area raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and funds for the educational efforts of the NAMES Project.
She is a psychotherapist in private practice in Smithtown NY and has published in The International Journal of Arts and Psychotherapy, Music Therapy Perspectives, Recovery Press, and the Psychodrama Network News, and was interviewed for articles about creativity, improvisation, and applications of the arts for healing and growth by New York Newsday, Woman's Day, and The Three Village Times.
